Mission, Philosophy, and Goals

All children can learn.  It is the mission of this program to provide quality, developmentally appropriate, early childhood education to children ages three though five.

Our program's curriculum addresses the identified needs of the children, families, and communities we serve.  Understanding the parent is the child’s first and most important teacher, every effort is made to help the family educate the child.

Our program has an important role in shaping the social, emotional, and intellectual development of the young child. The program's intent is to provide enriching, enjoyable, and meaningful activities that nurture young children.

Teachers strive to provide the children with those ingredients needed to build a solid foundation as each child evolves into a lifelong learner.

Our program is designed to help develop positive self-concept, enhance creativity, and enrich each child's life socially, intellectually, and emotionally.

There is an atmosphere of acceptance where each child's individual needs are considered allowing the child to flourish and grow under the guidance of qualified teachers including children with special circumstances like;

  • recent homelessness,

  • foster children,

  • those in protective custody,

  • and those with parents pursuing a GED or diploma.

Noah's Ark's program is based on the developmental approach to early childhood education that places emphasis on learning skills that are geared to each child's stage of readiness or development.

Our approach to learning recognizes the tremendous capacity and desire of the young child to discover and explore their immediate world's environment enabling him or her to convert their natural curiosity into the learning process.

Noah's Ark goals for our early childhood education program are to:

  • Prepare young children for kindergarten by incorporating an age-appropriate curriculum with high educational standards.

  • Employ quality staff who are well trained and knowledgeable in early education practices and continue their quest for knowledge in the area of early childhood development, young children’s learning styles, and parent communication techniques.

  • Actively engage children in learning by guiding them in hands-on learning activities and social play.

  • Encourage preschoolers to develop social, physical and intellectual ways to solve problems.

  • Encourage children to initiate their own learning activities.

  • Provide a physical environment that teaches through active exploration.

  • Incorporate high-quality educational components that prepare preschoolers for kindergarten by using pre-reading strategies (such as letter identification and sounds); early math skills (such as counting and number identification).

  • Include learning about nature, community, family and technology.

  • Include arts and crafts, physical activity and music in the curriculum.
